America was founded on principles of the Bible. John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” The greatest need in America is for more people who understand the Bible and base their lives on it.
In his American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster warned us what would happen if we forgot about God and the Bible. He said, “All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible.”
Ignorance of the Bible is at an all-time high in America. And we’re paying a heavy price for it. I think that this Bible passage describes what America is like today:
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. . . . Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as James and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5, 7-8)
America is being destroyed because we’ve forgotten who we are and where we came from. And we’ve forgotten about God and the Bible.
